Warranty Program
Coverage Period
The warranty coverage begins on the date of service completion and extends for a period of 12 months. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer for work that has been paid in full.
What Is Covered
This warranty covers only defects in workmanship performed by Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. as outlined in the original scope of work agreement. Only those services listed in the original scope of work for work that has been paid in full and proven to be defective will be covered under this warranty.
LIMITATIONS
Parts and Materials
This warranty covers only the labor portion associated with the original scope of work. Any warranty claims related to materials or products used during the project must be directed to the manufacturer of those items. Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. is not responsible for any material defects, failures, or associated claims outside of its own workmanship.
Leak Repairs
Leak repairs are not covered under this warranty under any circumstances. Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. assumes no liability for repairs related to water infiltration or any subsequent damage caused by leaks. Damage caused by ants, insects, or rodents. This warranty does not include any warranty for issues caused by animals, insects, rodents, house pets etc.
Scope of Work Limitation
This warranty applies only to those parts of the original scope of work performed directly by Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. Any additional work or modifications made by the customer or a third party voids this warranty.
Wear and Tear
Normal wear and tear or cosmetic issues are not covered under this warranty.
Damage
Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or acts of God (such as storms or natural disasters) is not covered under this warranty.
Grout Repairs on Existing Tiles
Grout repairs on existing tiles are excluded from our workmanship warranty. Due to potential pre-existing conditions, such as substrate movement, aging materials, or prior installations that may not meet current standards, repairs on existing tile grout cannot be guaranteed. Only new tile installations are covered under our craftsmanship warranty. Please note that when carrying heavy items across tiled floors, such as new countertops, or new or old appliances, the weight could cause the floor to deflect, causing issues with your tiled floor, and this will be beyond our warranty program. Please contact on ideas on how best to manage this, when it comes time to carry in our out appliances or heavy items
Concrete Patches or Partial Repairs
Concrete patches or repairs that do not involve a complete replacement are excluded from our craftsmanship warranty. Partial repairs may be subject to underlying issues beyond our control, affecting durability and performance. Our workmanship warranty covers only fully new concrete installations performed by Gillespie Handyman Services Inc.
Liability Limitation
The liability of Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. under this warranty is limited to either (1) the repair of the defective workmanship or (2) a refund of the cost associated with the defective portion of the original scope of work, at Gillespie Handyman Service Inc.’s discretion, no greater than the original invoice total.
The maximum liability of Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. under this warranty shall not exceed the original cost of the scope of work performed. In the event of different areas of work, the maximum refund amount will be calculated as to the cost of the original scope of that specific area.Â
Under no circumstances shall Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of its services. Additionally, if additional recommendations come to light during the work period and the recommendation is not accepted, the warranty will not cover potential issues arising from this decision, even if it impacts project costs.
Claims Process
To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must contact Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. via email at info@gillespiehandyman.com within 14 days of discovering the defect. The customer must provide a copy of the original invoice and a description of the issue. Gillespie Handyman Services Inc. reserves the right to inspect the issue at hand to determine coverage eligibility.
EXCLUSIONS
This warranty does not cover:
- Work performed by third parties after completion by Gillespie Handyman Services Inc.
- Issues arising from customer modifications to the completed work.
- Cosmetic issues such as minor scratches, dents, or scuffs that do not affect functionality.
- Damage caused by animals, pets, insects, rodents etc.
- Caulking, thermoplastic seal, silicone or other sealants against water. These items require regular maintenance and are not covered under our warranty program.
Additional Notes
Soffit, Fascia, and Siding
We will match color and style on siding, soffits, and fascia as closely as possible, subject to availability with the manufacturer. Color matches on existing soffits, fascia, and siding cannot be guaranteed due to weathering factors and the manufacturers’ selection of stock. If the available color installed does not meet your satisfaction, we would be available to paint the material with a color match from the existing product for an additional cost as noted on your estimate.
Parging
The color of the new parging will not match your existing parging exactly. If uneven color is present, new parging can be stained/sealed, after allowing a curing time of approximately one month. If you would like an estimate on staining/sealing cost, please let us know.
Customer Responsibilities
To ensure warranty validity, the customer agrees to:
- Perform routine maintenance on installed materials or components.
- Address any conditions that could potentially damage the completed work, such as water leaks, pest infestations, or lack of adequate ventilation or too much humidity, condensation or freezing temperatures.
- Avoid making any modifications or repairs to the issues in question, without prior approval from Gillespie Handyman Services Inc.
